Born and raised in the panhandle of Texas, her journey into the world of music began at the tender age of six.      At the age of thirteen, Monica felt a strong desire to become a performer and made her first public performances at many church festivals. Her mother encouraged her to start with mariachi music and was often invited to perform at special events and celebrations such as Cinco De Mayo and Mexican Independence Day. Entertaining veterans, The Knights of Columbus and Bishop Yanta. Monica’s dad would take her to weddings and quinceañeras to serenade the guest(s) of honor with a few songs.

At the age of fifteen, Monica's musical horizons expanded further as she fell in love with the rich cultural sound of Tejano music, immersing herself in its lively rhythms and heartfelt lyrics. Eager to share her newfound passion, she joined a local Tejano band, honing her craft and captivating audiences with her soulful performances. By the age of seventeen, Monica's ambition knew no bounds as she boldly ventured forth, forming her own band, Monica Y Eterno, a testament to her unwavering dedication to her musical aspirations. This lead to her having the opportunity to perform alongside many popular names in the Tejano industry to include Albert Zamora, Elida Reyna, Texas Latino, Los Palominos, Pete Astudillo, Rey Reyna and Stephanie Montiel.

However, as life unfolded, Monica made the courageous decision to pause her musical journey and step away from the spotlight, prioritizing her role as a devoted wife and mother. This moment reignited her passion, reaffirming her calling to peruse her dream once again.
